# Google Analytics (GA4)

> Automatically send platform conversion events to Google Analytics

## Setup

Paste the standard Google tag (gtag.js) snippet with your Measurement ID into the school's [custom code](/en/customization/js-config) (**For developers** → **Custom code**, HTML tab). The platform detects `window.gtag` and starts sending events automatically.

## Events sent

Where possible, [Google's recommended events](https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9267735) are used;
the rest are custom:

### Sign-up

  A new account is registered. The `method` parameter is `email` or `phone`.

### Lead (onboarding questionnaire)

  The onboarding questionnaire is completed.
</ParamField>

### Course view

  A course page is viewed. The `items` parameter contains the course `item_id`.
</ParamField>

### Demo lesson opened

  A demo lesson is opened. Parameters: `item_id`, `lesson_id`. A custom event.

### Free course enrollment

  Enrollment in a free course. The `item_id` parameter. A custom event.

### Checkout started

<ParamField body="begin_checkout" type="event">
  The user proceeds to payment. The `items` parameter contains the product `item_id`.
</ParamField>

### Purchase

<ParamField body="purchase" type="event">
  A successful payment. Parameters: `value`, `currency` (ISO 4217), `items`, `transaction_id`
  (the invoice uuid; GA4 itself ignores repeat purchases with the same `transaction_id`).
  The event is not sent for payments in internal currencies (points).

### Course completion
