# Custom JS code

> Configure platform behavior with custom code in the school admin panel

<Info>
  In the school admin panel, open **"For developers"** → **"Custom code"**, the **HTML** tab (the
  **"Custom HTML"** field). Code from this field is added to the `<head>` of every school page before the app loads,
  so `<script>` tags placed here run before the platform interface and can control its behavior.
  Changes take effect after the page is reloaded.
</Info>

<Note>
  Custom code can be edited by a manager with the **"School Settings Management"** permission (`SchoolManageSettings`).
  The code in the field is limited to 3000 characters.
</Note>

## Hiding the "Download the app" banner

By default, the platform shows a system banner suggesting that users download the mobile app.
To hide it, add the following to **"Custom HTML"**:

```html theme={null}
<script>
    (((window.exode ||= {}).common ||= {}).content ||= {}).banners ||= {};
    (window.exode.common.content.banners.system ||= {}).hideDownloadAppBanner = true;
</script>
```

## Hiding interface elements

The `excludeElements` parameter lets you hide individual platform interface elements for your school.
Pass an array of element keys:

```html theme={null}
<script>
    (window.exodeJsConfig ||= {}).excludeElements = [ 'videoWatchProgress' ];
</script>
```

### Available keys

<ParamField body="videoWatchProgress" type="string">
  Video watch progress: the bar of watched segments under the video player in a lesson and the video watch
  progress in the student card (student management section)
</ParamField>

## All parameters

<ParamField body="window.exode.common.content.banners.system.hideDownloadAppBanner" type="boolean" default="false">
  Hides the app download banner
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="window.exodeJsConfig.excludeElements" type="string[]" default="[]">
  Array of keys of interface elements to hide (e.g. `videoWatchProgress`)
</ParamField>
